ABOUT THE MEDWAY SOS BUS
The Medway SOS Bus is a new service for the community based on a proven concept implemented in other urban centres in the UK.
The SOS Bus aims to provide assistance to anyone visiting the Medway Towns at night who is feeling vulnerable or distressed due to being lost, separated from friends, unwell or even a victim of crime.
The bus will be parked in the centre of Rochester, near the Casino Rooms, on Friday and Saturday nights (Bus registration is M88 SOS) and will operate in conjunction with a support vehicle that will be available to transport people between other hotspots and the main bus.
By day, the SOS bus will be used as a mobile outreach resource for health improvement promotion and, potentially, many other initiatives.
We are seeking volunteers and sponsors: volunteers to work on the SOS bus at night, dealing with people who come to the bus for help, and sponsors to provide funding or other benefits in return for association with a good cause and some visibility for names and brands.
If you are interested in getting involved, whether as a volunteer or a sponsor, please contact the SOS bus Coordinator on 07817 780 860
