Clean Kent teams up with Crimestoppers to crack down on Fly tippers

In the fight against fly tipping in Kent, the Clean Kent Campaign has joined forces with the national crime fighting charity Crimestoppers.

Anyone with information about fly tipping or those involved can telephone anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.  Callers will be safe in the knowledge that their privacy is assured and that calls will not be recorded. Information received is then passed onto the Police and the Clean Kent Enforcement Team for investigation.
Fly tipping is unsightly and illegal and can lead to increases in other more serious criminal offences. Fly tipping is serious criminal activity and offenders can face prison sentences of up to five years or a maximum fine of £50,000.
Steve Mellers, County Manager of Kent Crimestoppers said, "We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Clean Kent Campaign. Kent Crimestoppers are committed to working with our partners in Kent to tackle and eradicate this serious environmental crime."

Mike Austerberry, Executive Director, Environment, Highways & Waste said, "Fly tipping is a damaging and illegal activity and through the Clean Kent Campaign, local authorities will not hesitate to bring offenders to justice, seeking criminal convictions and financial redress. Kent as a county is to be valued and protected from those engaging in this crime."

If you have any information about those who commit fly tipping offences, please help Clean Kent catch and prosecute them by calling 0845 345 0210, visit www. cleankent.com or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
